In October 2006, the Road Rat Riding Club was founded in Venezuela with the aim of reviving a brotherhood of motorcyclists who are originally from the state of California, USA.
Led by Daniel Mancin "RoadRatDan" along with other motorcyclist friends of the time, the Road Rat RC club was formed. The colors were seen for the first time at an event at that time in the city of Valera in Venezuela. After several group activities in several years from that time to the present and in different places, the members spread out around the world, carrying and keeping alive the spirit of the Road Rat RC in countries such as England, Spain, USA, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela and Australia, representing its colors along with the legacy and ideals of the Road Rat.
As an interesting fact, in its beginnings the racing car clubs took this name of Road Rat after the original Moto Club disappeared but only as a rebellious name.
In the Hollister events of July 1947, Riverside Police District Sheriff Carl F. Rayburn said that the bikers were a bunch of thugs and hoodlums, so Hollister Police Chief J.A. Bennet called them outcasts and AMA (American Motorcycle Association) Secretary Lin A. Kuchler made a public statement that would go down in history: "The infamous bikers were about one percent of the total attendees, so only one percent were thugs and hoodlums." From then on they were known as the 1% motorcycle clubs, the outlaws.
After the tragic Holister event of 1947 where it was said that only 1% of motorcycle clubs had been responsible for the disorder, the newly formed Hell Angels called a meeting of motorcycle clubs with those accused of being part of the 1%, among these were the Gipsy Jokers, Road Rats, Galloping Goose, Satans Slaves and The Presidents among others, at that meeting they decided to wear a picture of the 1% as a protest against the discrimination of the AMA, meanwhile the conflicts between motorcycle clubs were more violent.
The young revolutionaries of motorcycling of those days were in complete agreement with the reading of the facts and were fed up with the continuous restrictions imposed by a narrow-minded society and so they sought their own philosophy of life. This concept of freedom took on a new dimension, they adopted the exploits of the Holister Bash and the 1% motorcycle clubs declared themselves outlaw motorcycle clubs.
In 1966, since the founding of the Road Rat MC England, they were initially a street gang in London, there is also a person known by the nickname "Road Rat Robert" connected with the Road Rat USA, which lasted a short time between 1946 and 1949 as they were young post-war ex-military men and took different paths or were dismantled by other motorcycle clubs that took their territory.
These data were taken from Harley Davidson historians Oluf F. Zierl and Dieter Rebmann in the book of stories and myths of Harley Davidson in turn based on historical data and in the spirit of motorcycling and individual freedom to achieve the improvement of others, in the company of friends who go beyond the knowledge of friendship and in the aim of creating a brotherhood in order to protect, help and share outdoor life along with the hobby of motorcycling, we come together to form a fraternal group of personal and social respect to overcome social, political or commercial restrictions, thus expanding our family nucleus and breaking down the economic, social barriers of race, color, creeds and territorial, that oppress or restrict us.
